A: Hall & Company’s Cyber Security & Privacy Liability Policy covers all types. Whether the breach occurred online, such as a computer hack, or theft of a mobile electronic device, or offline, such as the loss of confidential papers the privacy breach is covered.
Q: Does it matter where the data is hosted?
A: There are no limitations on the type of data that is covered. The policy does not discriminate between commercially sensitive data, personal data or any other kind of data.
Q: What if the breach occurs in a country where there is no legal requirement to notify?
A: No. We’ll cover you regardless of where the data is actually stored, whether it is on your computer systems, at a third party hosting provider or even in the cloud.
Q: Does the policy cover my own losses?
A: Whether you are enforced by law to notify a breach, or you choose to do so voluntarily (to mitigate a potentially larger claim), our policy will cover both.

A: No, the policy covers all types of media such as printed brochures, print and television advertising and radio content along with online media.
Q: What about online content created by third party users, such as blog comments?
A: Yes, all types of marketing done through social media channels and corporate blogs are covered, even if done by employees without their employer’s knowledge or sign off.
Q: How are claims handled?
A: The policy reacts to content claims made against the insured regardless of who created, posted or restated the content.
