A unique opportunity exists for an experienced Principal Architect to create a new brand of single family residential projects for a well-known firm on the East Coast. An opportunity like this does not come available very often. This position is for an award- winning international architecture and planning firm that is located in metropolitan Washington, DC. The position presents opportunity for the Principal to bring new design ideas to a very successful and stable department. The Principal will assist with enhancing the firm’s work with current clients, as well as develop new business and new clientele. This person will successfully influence the design process by coordinating the single family group’s work effort from schematic design through construction administration. The Principal also will implement marketing strategies as well as serve as the point of contact for clients, staff members and subconsultants. This is an ideal position for the architect who enjoys developing staff, values exceptional design standards, and has a natural ability to work with clients on the up-front, interpersonal aspects of the job.
Qualified candidates will have a B. Arch, architectural registration, and at least 10 years of experience working in single family/townhome projects. The ability to interpret and apply building codes is critical as is an up-to-date knowledge of nationwide design trends and techniques.
