Laura Ledbetter recently placed a new policy for a Land Surveying Firm in Colorado. Over the last year, she has worked with this firm to learn their goals and develop a relationship that will grow as they continue to. This was important to both Laura and the firm as they had been with the same Agent for 17 years.
Through the review of all of the firm’s policies (Professional Liability, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto Liability, and Scheduled Equipment), Laura found some significant errors that could have resulted in no coverage for this firm had a loss occurred. For example, there was nearly half a million dollars worth of Contractor’s Equipment which was not insured correctly on this policy. Had a loss occurred away from the “premise”, the equipment would not have been covered. That is a big risk for a Land Surveyor who has costly mobile equipment.
Through this review, Laura was able to secure better coverage at a comparable price. Because of the equipment not being scheduled correctly, the firm ended up paying about 10% more than they had in the previous years, but now has coverage that truly meets their needs.
